Chantelle McEwen, MA Registered Psychotherapist

NARM Therapy for Trauma, Relationships & Lasting Change

My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and supportive. You don't need to have a clear understanding of your past or even know whether what you've experienced “counts” as trauma. We can start with what you're experiencing now and work from there.

You may find yourself repeating relationship patterns, struggling with boundaries or having your needs met, people-pleasing, feeling disconnected from yourself, carrying shame/guilt, or having difficulty trusting or feeling close to others. You may understand where these patterns came from, yet still feel stuck in them.

About Me

I am a Registered Psychotherapist and Certified NARM Therapist (NeuroAffective Relational Model) with 18 years of experience in the mental health field. Throughout my career, I have worked in a variety of roles and capacities, developing a broad range of clinical skills and experience. I believe that feeling genuinely seen, heard, and understood can be an important part of the therapeutic process. I offer a compassionate, person-centred space where you can slow down, explore what you are experiencing, and develop a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships.

Approach

NARM Therapy for Trauma, Relationships & Lasting Change

  1. I use the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM) which is a depth oriented trauma-informed approach to therapy that looks at how earlier experiences can shape the way we relate to ourselves and others.

  2. NARM helps individuals recognize patterns with curiosity and compassion. Over time, you can develop greater self-awareness, emotional regulation, choice, connection, confidence and a stronger sense of who you are.

  3. NARM can be helpful for adults experiencing the effects of attachment, developmental or relational trauma, difficult relationship patterns, anxiety, shame, guilt, disconnection, low self-worth, boundary difficulties, or chronic people-pleasing.

Supervision

My supervision practice is grounded in NARM principles, offering a safe, supportive and curious space for your professional development. I bring a warm and collaborative style to our work, focusing on expanding your self-awareness and strengthening your clinical and relational abilities. I am here to support your ongoing evolution as both a therapist and a human being

What is depth oriented supervision?

If you are looking to deepen your clinical practice, I offer depth-oriented supervision. This approach goes beyond standard skills and therapeutic tools, offering a space for curious and compassionate inquiry into your internal experience, nervous system responses, and the core beliefs that shape your clinical presence. Together, we will explore dynamics like transference and countertransference, looking closely at what might be blocking you from being fully connected, spacious, curious, and present with your clients.

Grounded in the NARM framework, our collaborative work prioritizes the relational field. Together, we will hold a safe space for you to tune into your own somatic responses during sessions. This gentle tracking helps to protect you from compassion fatigue and burnout while naturally sharpening your clinical judgment. My goal is to offer compassionate, specialized support that helps you bring awareness to clinical blind spots and honors your professional autonomy.
